YWAM

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international and interdenominational missionary organization composed of more than 10 thousand full time missionaries with more than 1,000 locations (or bases) around the world.

Our motto is to Know God and to make Him known.

Our mission is to transform the nations throughout different spheres of society such as: business, education, sports, arts, entertainment, communication, media, family, and the church.

We are an organization composted of people from over 149 countries around the world. In many of our locations we have a great variety of nationalities, people that come from different backgrounds and cultures to serve the Lord of The Harvest.

We belong to different Christian denominations, and each one of us is a missionary from their local church serving in some part of the world through YWAM. Almost half of our personnel come from countries such as South Korea, Indonesia, India, Brazil, Australia, and the United States.

In addition to our full time personnel, many YWAM locations have short term outreach teams, composed of individuals, youth groups, families and churches that can participate in the task of making God know through His word in action. We send out more than 250,000 short term missionaries each year.

We have three ministry focuses in YWAM

-Evangelism

-Mercy Ministry

-Training and Discipling

Evangelism

As a missionary organization we believe that our main purpose is to fulfill the Great Commission.

Training

We have a system of Discipleship and training like that of Jesus in which the staff spends long hours with the students daily. The goal is the personal transformation and character of the individual; equipping them to be more effective in their service within the body of Christ and to minister in the different spheses of society.

Mercy Ministry

We are awase of our Christian social responsibility, knowing that we have to express God’s  love and mercy that he has for the world, taking care of human beings as much as the environment.

YWAM began in 1960 with the vision of a young man named Loren Cunningham; who broke the model of acceptable missions of that time. He saw young people as waves beating against the coasts of the continents, taking the message of hope to a dying world. The perseverance mixed with a lot of grace and intercession brought us to the emergence of our organization.

YWAM Declaration of Purpose

Youth With A Mission or YWAM is an International and Interdenominational Missionary Organization founded in 1960 by Loren Cunningham. We are an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus Christ personally to this generation, and to mobilize as many people as possible, to train and equip believers to take an active role in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

YWAM works in three main areas:

-Evangelism: Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ en every nation

-Training: Discipling people of all ages to know God and to make Him known

YWAM’s Declaration of Faith

We in Youth With a Mission believe that the Bible is the word of God, inspired and authoritarian, and reveals that Jesus is the Son of God, that mankind is created in God’s image, and was created to have eternal life through Jesus, and even though mankind has sinned and fallen far from the glory of God, God has made salvation possible through Jesus’ death on the cross and his resurrection, and God desires all people to be saved and come to have knowledge of the truth.
